RELEASE DAY Never Let You Fall by Michele G Miller

I am beyond excited to be a part of this release day! The time has finally come for one of my closest friends to release her debut book. I've read the entire book and I'm blown away at the talent she has.

You can check out my review here.

A special Excerpt just for you...

“What do you feel?  Anything strange?”

She flung her hands up in the air as she answered me. “Yes, I feel something strange!  This whole thing is strange!”

Placing my finger on her lips, I shook my head in frustration.  “Skye, what do you feel here?” I asked again, pointing to her chest.  “How do you feel?”

She stood for a moment with her lips lightly pressed to my finger, slowly closing and reopening her eyes.  There was a sheen to them that spoke of unshed tears, and as she raised her hand to pull mine away from her mouth, I saw her fingers tremble when  she whispered, “I can’t deal with this, Xander.”

“Yes, Skye - you can and you will,” I warned her.  “This is going to happen whether you want it to or not.  I told you that I’m safe, and I…”

Skye broke into hysterical laughter at that.  “Safe?  You’re telling me that a legion of demons is after me and there’s nothing I can do to stop it.   How in your book does that equal safe?”

“You don’t know me, Skye, and you don’t know Rioden and… what we can do.  I told you that I would protect you, and I will.”

Shaking her head, she took a small step back and admitted, “You’re right about one thing, Xander,” as she wiped a tear from her face.  “I don’t know you, so how can I trust you?  No matter how you make me feel.  Please just leave me alone.”  She spun on her heel and sprinted away, leaving me to stare after her.

About the Author

Having grown up in both the cold, quiet town of Topsham, Maine and the steamy, southern hospitality of Mobile, Alabama, Michele is something of a enigma.  She is an avid Yankees fan, loves New England, being outdoors and misses snow.  However she thinks southern boys are hotter, Alabama football is the only REAL football out there and sweet tea is the best thing this side of heaven and her children’s laughter!

Her family, a doting husband and three awesome  minions  have planted their roots in the middle of Michele’s two childhood homes in Charlotte, North Carolina.

Never Let You Fall is Michele’s first novel and she is beyond thrilled to have finally followed up on a dream she has held for over 20 years!  God willing there will be many many more books to follow.

I think this picture just embodies the fabulousness that was my cover shoot. Not only did we have so much fun, but we also got some amazing shots. So many, in fact, that it's killing me to decide which ones to use for the cover. I mean, I have over 600 photo's to choose from. I think I have narrowed it down to maybe four....but it's so hard

Seriously, everyone was a joy to work with. We started out in Printers Alley in downtown Nashville and got some really awesome shots in the middle of the street and against a brick wall. Then we ventured down to the 'beach' and took some pictures there. It was truly mind blowing to see my characters, Jhett and Charlie, come to life before my eyes. Cathleen and Steven did a fantastic job being in love. It was so sweet and touching for me.

Now we just have to wait until May for the cover reveal! I also took a lot of behind the scenes video. I will have to edit that and maybe post it up on YouTube for you guys. What do you think?

Please join me in celebrating the Release Day Blitz for Bethany Lopez's YA Contemporary Fantasy, Nissa: a contemporary fairy tale.

At 900 years old, Nissa is finally ready to follow her mother's path and become the best Fairy Godmother she can. She’s not thrilled when her first assignment turns out to be a teenage human girl with self-esteem issues, but she knows she has to start somewhere. Her assignment has dealt with bullies since her freshman year and they haven’t let up. If Nissa can’t help her regain her self-confidence her future is bleak. To complicate matters Nissa experiences all the signs that she's met the being fated for her. This impossibility distracts her from her purpose. After all, fairies and humans aren't meant for each other. How can her heart believe otherwise? Can Nissa successfully complete her first assignment as a Fairy Godmother? Will the fates allow Nissa and Levi to be together? And even if they do, will Levi believe Nissa once she reveals the truth?

Bethany Lopez was born in Detroit, Michigan, and grew up in Michigan and San Antonio, Texas. She went to High School at Dearborn High, in Dearborn, Michigan, which is where she has set her Young Adult series. She is married and has a blended family with five children. She is currently serving in the United States Air Force as a Recruiter in Los Angeles, California. She has always loved to read and write and has seen her dream realized by independently publishing her novels through Amazon, Barnes & Noble, and Smashwords.

The very first character from Promise Me This I want to officially introduce to you is Ginger.

The best way to describe Ginger is like a sour patch kid - One moment she's super sweet and the next she's biting your head off for something you didn't even know you did wrong. She's got that element of surprise with her personality so you'll never know what side of her you will get. The same goes for her physical looks. She's a girly girl who's shorter than the average person but don't let that fool you! She will be the first person to throw down in a fight.

Ginger is the oldest of the characters and although she may think she's the wiser one, she's not. She's a ticking time bomb of emotions waiting to explode. She tends to bottle up her emotions deep down inside of her and as you may know, that's never a good thing to do.

This doesn't mean that she doesn't have a fun side in her. She calls things how she seems them and isn't afraid to voice her opinion about it. She's always looking for a good party and knows how to enjoy herself. She is constantly the center of attention - dancing, singing, and sometimes drinking. This combination has been known to get her into trouble a few times, but it's nothing she can't sweet talk her way out of.

Here's Ginger's playlist for you two enjoy. She's got a pretty epic mish-mash of moods going on here, I'd say.

THE DAY IS FINALLY HERE! Today I celebrate my birthday and twenty-five years since I made an appearance into the world! In honor of my birthday, I have a few things to share with you. First, is this lovely photo of me as a wee little baby. I couldn't find one in my stash of me as a newborn, so you will have to settle with me being a chunky infant instead. You're welcome. Second, is something I have been dying to share with you all for some time. MY BLURB! Yes, it's finally perfect and ready for the world to see!

Also, do you see the nifty little banner up there? Well the silhouette is actually a picture from my cover shoot! I just couldn't wait until May to share some of them so I had to be creative and find a way to do that without giving away too much. I think I did a pretty swell job, don't you? Okay, back to the blurb.

Here it is! The blurb for Promise Me This...

Welcome to the South - where the tea is sweet and the accents are sweeter. This Southern way of life is all Charlie has ever known.  It’s not until she loses the only person who pushed her to break free of the Southern Belle mold that she starts living the life she needs and not the life her parents forced on her.

Jhett has lived on the edge for as long as he could remember - constantly teetering back and forth between being a rock star and living a normal life.  His rebellious and sometimes arrogant attitude is known to get him into trouble, especially with the girls who hang on his every move.

Charlie never thought that a trip to pack up her brother’s apartment would leave her feeling even more unsettled about the grainy details of her brother’s death.  Her quest for information leads her straight to his old hangout and into arms of Jhett, who suspiciously knows more about her situation than he ever should.

Only a few questions remain - Can you trust someone based on their word alone? And if you make a promise, how far will you go to keep it?

WHEW. I feel like I could shout and sing from the rooftops I'm so happy to finally get this out there! But wait folks - there's more! I've also got another teaser for you. It's a Jhett POV teaser, so enjoy!

“It’s kind of hard to think when you have me in such a compromising position.”  She wiggled against the hands beneath my grasp.  I never held her hands down too tight or against her will, but I’d figured out what she liked, and it was exactly that.
“I could guess one thing you’re thinking about right now.”  I let go of one wrist, which left me free to explore the curves underneath me that continued to drive me wild.  My hands slid down her chest and side, blazing a trail straight to her thighs.  Her unsteady breaths let me know that she was enjoying every minute of the sensuous torture I had planned.
Charlie’s hand slipped up to my face, and she locked her eyes onto my own; the deep blue color acting as my kryptonite.  “I’ve only got one thing on my mind…”   The soft pad of her thumb ran across my bottom lip, sending a shiver down my spine.  She caught me off guard as she pressed her lips on mine with only the slightest amount of pressure, causing me to breathe in deep through my nose.
“How many hours of sleep you’re going to get after I rock your world all night?”  I couldn’t even recognize my own voice anymore.  It was deep and husky, filled with a kind of need and lust I’d never heard come out of my mouth.
Charlie took my earlobe into her mouth, only running her teeth lightly over it before she released my sensitive flesh.  “What bathing suit I’m going to wear tomorrow at the bonfire…”
Now I'm off to go shove my face with birthday cupcakes. Yum! Thank you to everyone for the birthday wishes! While you're at it, go check out some other stops on the blog hop I'm a part of on this busy day!

Early Birthday Presents - For Me AND You!

It's April! Which is an exciting months for me because it's my birthday month! Now, I'm not one of those people who go crazy celebrating my birthday all month. In fact, I am that person who mentions it maybe once all year and then enjoys a nice dinner with family and friends on my birthday. I'm content with that. Presents make me nervous. I love giving presents but receiving them is always so weird for me! It may be my anxiety making me feel awkward about it but I always feel like everyone is staring and waiting to see if I love it or not, which if you know me, you would know that I seriously love EVERYTHING I get. I've never received a gift that I felt wasn't awesome. I even love simple cards and never throw them away (don't go looking in my closet. It's like a card and letter graveyard).

Well this year I turn twenty-five and I already feel like one lucky girl this month. The only thing I wish I could change is the fact that my husband is still away and can't celebrate with me but he will be home within the next few months and I know we will have one giant celebration! That being said - I've already been spoiled this year. My mom sent me my presents first and she absolutely blew me away! I got two really awesome gifts from her.

The first one was PINK Clarisonic. She has raved about hers for a while and I was on the fence about it. But she offered to get one for my birthday and I tried it and I'm pretty sure I don't know how I ever lived without it. Fresh skin here I come!

The next present she sent my way might have made me cry. I've been working on a fairly decent HP laptop my husband and I bought a few years ago. Recently thought, it's been going haywire on me. And by haywire, I mean fricken nuts. That's when this beauty came into my life.Is it possible to fangirl over an inanimate object? Because that would make me feel so much better about the love I feel for this beautiful electronic device that is sitting in front of me. This brand new MacBook Pro is MINE! Did I mention how much I love it? I even decked her (yes, she's obviously a girl) in some pink and she couldn't look more perfect. EEK! I've been having so much fun learning the Mac ways so expect some more blogs on YouTube coming soon!

My next early birthday gift came from Cathleen (who I mentioned in my previous blog post). She has been telling me she ordered my gift from Etsy for weeks and I knew I would love it instantly. For future reference, I'm an Etsy addict. But anyway, I honestly thought it would have something to do with cupcakes and when she gave me a cute little bag yesterday and I opened it up - I almost cried. I couldn't believe how amazingly thoughtful and sweet this little gift was!  Seriously, this girl just made me melt! She even said that she made sure to make it a stackable ring so that when I wrote more books I can add more rings. The support alone makes her an awesome friend but this gift kind of gave her a boost, too. Good thing her birthday isn't until the end of the year so I have time to plan something equally as thoughtful!

What other things are in store for my very special birthday month?

Well I have some gift for you guys. Obviously, the cover is a huge gift and if you haven't heard....TOMORROW is cover shoot day! Holy moly! Who knew it was so soon? The second gift I have for you is on my actual birthday - April 14th - I will be releasing my blurb to the world! I've been hard at work perfecting my little labor of love and I can't wait to see what everything thinks!

Now I'm off to enjoy the gorgeous 75+ degree weather we have been blessed with the past few days. The puppies and I are hanging out in the backyard all day. Hopefully they will sleep well tonight.

I had some fun cover photo updates!

I have been blessed with some amazing friends and people who have agreed to make my cover photo possible. When I started writing I had a pretty clear image of what the main characters, Charlie and Jhett, looked like. I mean, they each have pretty distinct looks. I spent hours searching through stock photos and could find nothing that I liked. It was becoming clear to me that finding a tattooed guy with a blonde girl was extremely rare in photos. Go figure, right?

So I asked one of my good friends if he would be interested in taking the photo for my cover. I've always admired his work and knew that his unique creative eye would be perfect for what I had in mind to create a one-of-a-kind cover. And what did you know? He said yes and was even excited to get started brainstorming ideas with me.

The next step was to find my perfect models. The first person to get chosen was Charlie. I was browsing Facebook and saw one of my friends photo's and BAM - it clicked. She was my Charlie. So I again crossed my fingers and send her a text message explaining my crazy idea and asked if she was interested. Within seconds she had text messaged me back with one giant YES!!! She's so adorable and sometimes it cracks me up how similar her and Charlie really are. And what would you know, she's also been a huge cheerleader for me this whole crazy journey.

Then came the hard part - finding the perfect Jhett. He's rugged and covered in tattoos and let me tell you how difficult it is to find! I knew for me, having someone who was not like the men on the Harlequin Romance novels was important. Of course I was not opposed to a good looking guy, but I wanted a real person. So when the picture perfect person for Jhett randomly stumbled onto the crazy train and he actually agreed to join in and be Jhett for the cover, I was beyond pleased. I can tell you this - he does not disappoint!

The cover will be done by Sarah Hansen at Okay Creations in May. At the time that it was freezing cold here with rain and a little bit of snow. That was not going to work when Promise Me This took place during the summer....and on a beach! Well, we've finally been blessed with constant warmer weather and it looks like spring is actually upon us, so I think we're safe to start planning out the shoot! This makes me one happy author.

So this is the month that I'm wrapping up writing and starting the editing process AND I get to see my characters come to life thanks to three fantastic people - Chad, Cathleen, and Steven. It just truly makes me realize not only how blessed I am but how much I feel like this is what I'm supposed to be doing. So thanks again guys!

Now who is as excited as I am to see this cover?
