Happy Birthday Desiree!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO MISS DESIREE DEORTO!! In honor of her birthday, she's going to hang out on the blog a little bit. She just released her debut novel a few days before me and you're going to want to check this girl out!

*** WARNING ****
For ages 17+ due to language and sexual content.

The people of Shiloh, Virginia thought it was just a story. A legend to keep children from misbehaving. A challenge to prove you have courage. What they didn't know was that it was real. All of it was real.

When Starlette McKinley moved from the sparkling lights of LA to the sleepy town of Shiloh, she didn't know that she would be the catalyst. She didn't know that the rage and energy pulsing through her would be the key to unleashing an unsurmountable power that would either be the saving of mankind, or its destruction.

The blood will run, and the prophecy will be revealed. But will she be able to overcome the insurmountable odds? Or will she succumb to the energy within, welcoming the darkness that has become her only friend.

  • This book has also made me anxious, since I am anxiously waiting for the next book to come out. MEW
  • "This a lovely book and the author creates a wonderful, heart warming, funny tale. ebilade
  • "DeOrto leaves you with a cliffhanger, but she ties up the rest of a story in a very dark and twisty bow. ” - jessica danowski
  • "The Prophecy by Desiree DeOrto is so very well written and so complelling that I found it difficult to believe it is DeOrto's first novel. I was completely absorbed in the tale shortly into the first chapter. I cannot wait for more from this author. Count me as a fan for life." - Marsha Jeanne Thalleen

I'm a stay-at-home mother of four (no, it isn't very glamorous unless you have a fascination with diapers and baby puke)who finally decided to grow a pair and follow one of my passions: writing. I've been known to throw glitter and threaten people with unicorns. I hate writing biographies because they make me feel really 'look at me! Look at me!' when I'm really one of those '*waves hand* this is not the person you were looking for* type. I hope everyone enjoys my books, and look forward to providing more books that everyone will love!

Who's That Wednesday - Meet Jhett

For my very last character introduction from Promise Me This, I am beyond excited to introduce to you Mr. Jhett Hudson.

Jhett seems like your typical bad boy. He has tattoos, he's snarky, he doesn't care what people think, and he can be downright reckless. He never sticks around long enough to get emotionally involved with woman, but loves to be the center of attention, especially when he's on stage with his guitar. But that's just the tip of the Jhett iceberg; there's so much more to him than what he shows on the outside.

He has a passionate fury about him in everything he does, which is one of the reasons why he became so successful at a young age. He knows the choices he's made to get him where he is now, and with some of them came unexpected situations - like Charlie falling straight into his lap.

He's forced to relieve certain aspects of his past once she shows up and it's not always easy for him to figure out how he feels. Charlie turns his world upside down and challenges him in ways no one ever has. Jhett never knew what he wanted until he met her.

Who's that Wednesday - Meet Charlie

So the time has finally come to introduce everyone to our two main characters, Charlie & Jhett. Sticking with the tradition of ladies first, I would like to introduce you to Miss Charlotte Caroline Jennings, but that's just Charlie to all of you.

Charlie is your typical southern girl, except she has parents who suffocate her like nobody's business. She grew up riding horses and minding her manners, all under the watchful eye of her mother. The only solace she had was her brother, Cameron, who let her escape into their imaginary worlds when they were younger.

There's an internal battle raging inside of her, though. She's stuck somewhere between making her parents proud by doing what they want and experiencing the freedom of living her own life away from the restrictions and expectations. Charlie's heart is pure, leaving her to be perceived as naive, but she's a fighter and constantly proving her resiliency.

Jhett thinks of her as being all that is good in life, and I think that describes her perfectly. Charlie carries with her an feeling of wholesomeness and light; where she goes, good things happen. But not every good thing can last forever. She is faced with troubles and decisions that will attempt to break her delicate heart. Even though she's a fighter, sometimes you have to figure out if what you love is worth fighting for.

I reached 200 fans on Facebook and decided to giveaway an eARC of Promise Me This because you guys seriously rock! Thank you for all of your support leading up to the release!

You can enter through here or on the FB page - doesn't matter to me since it all goes to the same place. The ONLY entry that is mandatory is the first one, which requires nothing from you except a few words. Twitter is only optional!

Also, in case you're wondering what an eARC is, it's a e-copy of an Advanced Readers Copy. So basically, you will get a copy before the book releases! Pretty neat, huh? Okay on to the free stuff!
