 Excerpt:

Nickoli’s arms were laden with weapons when he came back into view. He stepped in, uninvited, and opened his arms; allowing each deadly piece to drop to the ground with an ear-splitting clang. I jumped back as the items ricocheted across the floor, and a club rolled to a stop by my feet.
Nickoli bent over and picked up a sword. He approached me, a menacing look on his face, and a flash of terror tore through me. The temptation to scream was strong, however I knew it wouldn’t do me any good. If his intention was to kill me, the deed would be long done before my cries for help would be answered. If they were ever answered. I kept my focus on the sharp tip of the sword as he advanced on me.
“If you choose not to trust me, you will have to protect yourself.”
He raised the sword, gripped the hilt in his fist, and hurled it into the floor at my feet. The tip embedded into the wood with a thud. I yelped in surprise and jumped back. With an angry glare, he turned to storm out of the room; leaving the pile of weapons scattered about the floor.
“I don’t know how to fight with a sword,” I called out, my voice void of the angry bluster it carried earlier.
He didn’t stop, but instead replied over his shoulder as his long strides carried him out the door. “Then Princess, you best learn how.”

The slam of his door signaled the end to our conversation.

About the Author:

Michele is the author of the Coming of Age Fantasy Series The Prophecy of Tyalbrook - Never Let You Fall, book one (May 2013) and Never Let You Go, book two (Jan 2014) as well as the New Adult Romantic Suspense, Last Call (Oct 2013). She is currently working on the third book in The Prophecy of Tyalbrook Series, a Last Call novel and a YA Realistic Fiction that has her super excited!

Having grown up in both the cold, quiet town of Topsham, Maine and the steamy, southern
hospitality of Mobile, Alabama, Michele is something of a enigma.  She is an avid Yankees fan, loves New England, being outdoors and misses snow.  However she thinks southern boys are hotter, Alabama football is the only REAL football out there and sweet tea is the best thing this side of heaven and her children’s laughter!

Her family, an amazing husband and three awesome kids, have planted their roots in the middle of Michele’s two childhood homes in Charlotte, North Carolina.

Promise Me Forever - UPDATE

I can't begin to tell you how many times I've attempted to start this blog post. I feel like I've put it off until I could find the right words to express everything I felt. So here it goes...

My goal was to get you guys Promise Me Forever in November of 2013 and obviously, that didn't happen. Then it was before Christmas, and that didn't happen. Then it was Valentines Day, and that couldn't happen. I DO have a date that it WILL happen on though. But I want to tell you a little about what did happen during the time since I released Promise Me This until now, getting ready to finish Promise Me Forever. I want to tell you because I want you to know me and what I'm doing. Not as an excuse as to why I didn't get my books out super duper quick.

So here's what happened: Life. Pretty simple stuff. Nothing too spectacular, but I can tell you, I've learned I'm horrible at time management. And by horrible...I mean totally, terribly, awful. But speaking of management...I got a new position at my "normal human job." I don't know how many of you were in on the fact that I do work outside of my writing. It's a pretty awesome job. I work at a pottery studio in my town and we have paint your own pottery and also do wood items as well. It's something I really enjoy doing and have painted quite a few things for other people and very few things for myself. I started working there in the Fall of 2012 and really just fell in love with the place. I loved my boss and my fellow employees.

As life tends to do during the holiday season, it picked up rather quickly. For my "normal human job," my wonderful boss and owner entrusted me to manage and run her business while she spent her first vacation with her husband togeter(they're a military family, too) in something like, twenty years. But she happened to take a really long vacation - three months to be exact. She left in December. Here's something else you might not know about me. I've never really been "in charge" at any of my jobs. Sure, I've had positions where there were people under me, but everyone pretty much took care of themselves. And I worked with children for seven years. And horses. NOT pottery and grown-ups and customer service. Dude, people can be nasty.

And then something wonderful happened - My husband came home to visit again. And life paused as it normally does when he comes home. During these times of busy life, I wrote when I could. But most days I was so tired when I got home from work, I didn't want to write. And I struggled with that for a few months. I wanted so badly to get another book out to my readers, but my muse kind of just said - FUCK YOU. And so I was faced with a choice of saying the same thing back to my muse and writing anyway or just listening to her and writing when I wanted. I flip flopped back and forth and did a little of both. But I still just couldn't get things moving.

And that's when I confided in a few authors and readers and told them my dilemma and they all told me the same thing. Don't rush things. Books get written when they need to be written. And I believe this and know this. I've been that reader that has waited anxiously for YEARS for an author to put out another book in their series. But now, authors are speed demons and writing super fast and I hated to disappoint anyone or give anyone the idea that I was just being lazy or didn't care, when that is so far from the truth. I cared so much it stressed me out big time!

But the time I wasn't writing gave me time to do other things and it has made Promise Me Forever into what it is right now - and I think it's pretty frickentoe awesome. It gave me time to think about Charlie and Jhett and how they would deal with what lies ahead for them. It's given me thoughts and ideas for prequel novellas. Jhett has really benefited from my time to think the most. He has a solid and kind of haunting history that he battles, much like Charlie who is constantly battling her demons of the present and future. Maybe that is why they fall in sync with each other so well?

Anyway, this post is my way of saying - I promise I am worth waiting on. I may not be the author that can write five or six books a year, but I will be that author that makes sure my books are as perfect as they can be. That my characters will be well thought out and my words carefully chosen. I will be there for you and continue to write as long as you will be there for me and continue to read. You guys are why I write - I want to share these movies that basically play in my head all day long and I hope when you read my words they play in yours as well. I will release them as they come - some sooner than others - but they will be released.

With that being said, I think you deserve to know some important dates.

Promise Me Forever will release on
March 17th, 2014

Yes, St. Patrick's Day. It wasn't intentional - I wanted to keep with the 17th day of the month - but I still think it's pretty cool! And that means the cover reveal is coming soon as well!

The cover reveal will take place on February 18th, 2014. Sarah Hansen designed the cover for me again and GAH. I'm going to say, I thought I love the cover of Promise Me This, but this cover really makes me excited. It's something guys.

If you are a blogger and would like to get in on helping with the cover reveal, you can follow the link HERE.

I look forward to this release so much. I can't wait to hear everyone's thoughts and share in the excitement!
